Houston, TX – Harris County Judge Daryl L. Moore signed a Temporary Injunction Friday in favor of the residents fighting notices to vacate at the 2100 Memorial senior living facility they call home. “This ruling does exactly what we intended with filing the suit. HHA has to prove why they feel it is necessary to evict 198 elderly residents,” says Richard Tomlinson, Director of Litigation.

Judge Moore’s injunction states that the HHA cannot evict the tenants unless it can prove that the premise is not safe for residential purposes. Additionally, it states that the issues the HHA believe to be unsafe need to be fixed, tested, and inspected – all within 45 days. Paul Blinn, one of the residents and plaintiffs “I think the judge did the right thing, the city was totally off base. LSLA did a good job of presenting the case. “
